Driscoll Skills Jan-Feb 2024

We are pleased to announce that we will be resuming our Winter skills sessions beginning in January. Similar to last year, these sessions will be conducted by Driscoll Skills and Skating and will be significantly subsidized by NYHA. These sessions will run for 6 weeks on Sundays at Babson from 5-7pm and will be optional. The first session is slated for Sunday 1/7/24. There will be a cost of $10-15 per player for each session and it will be first come, first serve. 

Winter skills will be open to all travel teams from U8-U14 as well as Mite Development. The 5-6 hour will be for the younger skaters and the 6-7 hour will be for the older skaters. The curriculum will build on the fall skills program which was focused purely on skating, and will cover the following topics:  

1. Passing

2. Stickhandling

3. Checking (for the older players and rising Bantams)

Each week on Tuesday we will announce the topic of the session and create a sign-up link on the NYHA website. Each session will be capped at 30 skaters similar to last season. With the stretch run for the playoffs and 2024-25 tryouts just around the corner, we are hoping this could be a great way for our players to improve their skills and benefit from Driscoll's excellent instruction.
